The Digital Music Research Institution seeks to negotiate between the realm of traditional classical music education, and hi-tech contemporary music, where digital is becoming more ubiquitous and embedded with faster processing speed and new capabilities of technology.

Digital music is in nature, an aggressive form of music. Artists are constantly splicing, mashing, and layering eclectic sounds to create something new.

Our formal strategy for this new music school is to splice two programmatically separate volumes into the existing structure, creating a hybrid between 'traditional' and 'contemporary'.
